We were able to offer Melta Shoba a tombstone for her late son.
This is the email that we received from 702.
We received an email from Sandy, an avid listener of the radio station. Sandy says in November 2011 her domestic worker
Melta Shoba’s son Richmond took ill. She he was suffering from excruciating headaches. After many visits to Germiston
Hospital he was eventually admitted.
When Sandy contacted the sister on duty, she was told they had thought Richmond had a fit. The medical care he received at the
hospital was appalling and his condition deteriorated . Melta decided she wanted to take her son to Swaziland.
On their way to Swaziland, they stopped at a hospital in Polokwane as Richmond’s condition worsened.
It took one test by the doctor on duty to diagnose Richmond with viral meningitis. However because it been left untreated for
so long they were not able to do anything for him and in December he passed away.
Sandy has asked us to help Melta with a tombstone for her late son, as that’s all she would like to do for him.
Talk Radio 702 is appealing to you, donate a tombstone to Melta’s late son.
We realise how important a memorial is for a loved one, and we are very happy to be able to give back, and be apart of Lead SA.
On Friday the 22nd of June 2012, Melta and Sandy decided to come to our showroom to look at our selection of tombstones, Melta was
Convinced that our offer of a memorial was not real. However after she visited us, had a cup of tea and spoke to Norman and Natascha.
She was so excited and she will be back with her family to select a tombstone for her son. We are looking forward to her next visit and we Will keep you updated on the wish!
